LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT MY CAT

In 2014, I signed a binding contract to serve a sweet queen and food thief named Asuna the Lightning Flash. As my friends and coworkers will readily attest, I send pictures of her upon and without request. Her name comes from the anime Sword Art Online, but I fully disavow everything after the first story arc in Season 1.

Many coworkers have been left with the impression that I have two cats. I would love for this to be true, but Asuna doesn’t like other animals.

I also have a baby girl, but don’t post as many pictures of her.

Clever Bops

Clever has its own house band (Funky on Demand), which occasionally performs covers of songs at company events. In 2019, I won the Clever Hackathon with a song poking fun at a common typo teammates made when trying to report outages. Since then, I’ve written lyrics, provided vocals, directed music videos, and hand-animated for dozens of Clever-themed songs. You can see them all using the button below, but my favorites include:

MohitInSpaceJam.Party

Clever has a tradition of creativity around anniversaries, especially when someone’s been around for a long time. So when we had our very first 8-year anniversary, we spent a lot of time trying to figure out how we could make it special. Eventually, someone said “There’s Mohit in Space, right? What about Mohit in Space Jam?”

Within a day, we had lyrics written. But what should we do for the music video? Instead of making a music video, I spent two days coding a Frankenstein’s-monster-esque fusion of the original 90s Space Jam website and the project that Mohit’s friends maintained as a joke. And expensing a custom domain. The result: MohitInSpaceJam.Party.

This project also inspired a going away gift for our VP of Product. When Kevin Kirn, noted sailing enthusiast, left Clever to pursue his dream of sailing to Alaska, we gave him an eternal home for the sea shanty we wrote for his third anniversary at Clever and new out of office message at sailcation.ooo
